OUR LOCATIONS
Coming to us can be done in multiple ways. We'll explain them all

Co van Kessel Bangkok tours operates all of our tours from two offices in Bangkok.

A) Bangkok - River City
B) Bangkok - Tha Phra Chan

A) BANGKOK - RIVER CITY

Co van Kessel Bangkok tours operates most of our tours from our office at River City Bangkok. We are located on the ground floor (outside mall entrance), to the right of the main mall entrance, past the Subway sandwich shop, and next to the exit ramp of the parking garage.

Taxi’s in Bangkok are typically an inexpensive and convenient door-to-door option for getting around Bangkok, but are best taken for the early morning (07:00) tour departures and on Sundays when traffic is typically lighter.

Try to avoid using them during weekday rush-hour periods (07:00-09:00 or 17:00-20:00) when delays can be quite extensive.  Even during non-peak times, traffic can be unpredictable, and you should always leave plenty of extra time for unexpected delays. Google maps can typically provide a pretty reliable estimate on commute times including traffic delays.

Tuk tuks are sometimes a fun alternative option for short trips, but they are typically more expensive than metered taxis, less comfortable, and more likely to take you to the unwanted shopping excursion or gem shop.

As more and more subway lines get added in the future, traveling around Bangkok by subway will become an increasingly more attractive option to avoid Bangkok traffic.

From any MRT (subway) station, you can get to our location by taking the train to the Hua Lamphong station. From there, it is a 10 minute walk along the canal, a short right onto Charoen Krung Road, and a quick left onto Soi 24 where you’ll see our office at the end of the street. Please see the map below for more details.

MRT fares will range from 16-42 baht per person, depending on the length of the ride.

The BTS Skytrain has been a long-time favorite amongst locals as the preferred mode of public transportation due to its convenient access to Sukhumvit Road, Siam Square, and the Silom/Sathorn business corridor.

BTS station Saphan Taksin
From any starting BTS station, make your way to the Saphan Taksin station located adjacent to the Chao Phraya River. Fares will range from 15 to 42 baht per person, depending on distance traveled. From there, several modes of transportation will get you to our location:

- Taxi or Tuk Tuk from below the Saphan Taksin station will get you to River City in 5-10 minutes.
- Chao Phraya Express Boat - From the Central Pier, take a northbound (going from left to right), orange flagged boat three stops to the Si Phraya (N3) pier. Departing the pier, take a left at the end of the alleyway and walk straight, 200m to our office at River City. The fare is 15 baht per person.
- Royal Orchid Sheraton Shuttle boat - Between 10:00-22:00, the free hotel shuttle boat departs the central pier 10 minutes past every half hour (:10 or :40) and arrives at the hotel right next door to River City.

BTS station Charoen Nakhon (ICON SIAM)
An alternative is taking the BTS Skytrain to Charoen Nakhon, which is the station of ICON SIAM Shopping Mall.  After exiting you walk towards to riverside of the shopping mall and take the free ferry boat to Si Phraya / River City.   Turn left from the Si Phraya pier, stay outside and pass the River City entrance and find our office on the left side, after the 7-11.

The Chao Phraya Express Boat ( https://www.chaophrayaexpressboat.com/?lang=en )is an excellent option for getting to our office from locations along the Chao Phraya River (including Khao San Road and Rambuttri).  It is also a way to avoid the uncertainty of Bangkok traffic which can result in long delays throughout the day and especially during morning and evening rush hours (06:30-08:30 and 17:00-20:00).  The BTS Skytrain has been a long-time favorite amongst locals as the preferred mode of public transportation due to its convenient access to Sukhumvit Road, Siam Square, and the Silom/Sathorn business corridor.

River City is located near the Si Phraya Pier (N3).  From the pier, walk straight down the alleyway, take a left at the end, and walk 200m (past the Sheraton Hotel and the River City main entrance) to our office.

The express boats are distinguished by different colored flags (orange, yellow, green, blue, and no flag) which determine piers serviced and the fares.   For the purposes of getting to our office for the tour, all flag colors will work, but keep in mind that the ‘no flag’ boat is the slowest and will stop at every pier.  Recommended would be the orange flag, (or blue flag).   Fares are ~10-20 baht per person, with the exception of the ‘blue flag’ tourist boat which charges 40 baht per person.  The ‘blue flag’ boat will stop ICON SIAM Shopping mall, for where you need a (free of charge) ferry crossing to our office at River City.  Boats should arrive at the pier every 10-15 minutes and tickets are most of the time purchased on the boat (unless being sold on the pier).-

For those staying at select hotels near River City (Millenium Hilton, Peninsula, Shangri-La, Mandarin Oriental), the free River City shuttle boat is available for pick-up to River City or drop off back to the hotel from 10:00 - 19:30. Please contact your hotel concierge to schedule a pick-up.
